Letter from the Interim Minister

Dear Friends

This Sunday is a wonderful day, much longed for, when we are able to come together to worship God as a community once more.  It is a day for us to celebrate.  Above all it’s a day for us to give thanks to God for all that he has done for us during the lockdown, the hidden blessings in the midst of so much fear, uncertainty and pain.

However, Sunday is also a time for us to remember those members of our community who are continuing to shield. It is important that although they continue to be out of sight, they should not be out of mind.  This is one of the reasons we will be streaming our main service on a Sunday.  It’s important that we support them with our prayers but also with acts of kindness, keeping in contact by phone, doing whatever we can for them.  If you think someone may be falling through the cracks, please make contact with them, but also please let me know.

May God walk with you all, filling you with his blessings of grace and love.  Alessandra

Practical Tips for Sunday

1.  You will need to sanitise your hands on arrival and before leaving.

2.  Please don’t assume that you can go to your normal seat as we have had to make provision for those members of our community who wish to continue social distancing.

3.  We will also be keeping a register just in case there is a breakout of the virus so we help facilitate contact tracing.

4.  The offertory plates will be at the back of church. If you wish to make an offering please do so as you come in. However, we would encourage people to make their gifts by standing order if at all possible. Once we have broadband installed we will have contactless giving.

5.  We are looking to minimise paper so everything you need will be on the screen.

Prayers for Daily Life - Trinity

O God, the creator and preserver of all,

we pray for people in every kind of need;

make your ways known on earth,

your saving health among all nations …

We pray for the Church;

guide and govern us by your good Spirit,

that all who profess and call themselves Christians

may be led into the way of truth,

and hold the faith in unity of spirit,

in the bond of peace and in righteousness of life …

We commend to your fatherly goodness

all those who are any ways afflicted or distressed,

in mind, body or estate;

comfort and relieve them in their need,

give them patience in their sufferings,

and bring good out of all their afflictions …

We remember those who have gone before us

in the peace of Christ,

and we give you praise for all your faithful ones,

with whom we rejoice in the communion of saints …

All this we ask for Jesus Christ’s sake.

All   Amen
