Prayers for Daily Life – Trinity
In the power of the Spirit and in union with Christ,
let us pray to the Father.
O God, the creator and preserver of all,
we pray for people in every kind of need;
make your ways known on earth,
your saving health among all nations …
for the IOM government …
for the leaders of the nations …
for all who hold public office …
that they may be filled with the integrity, justice, mercy and humility of Jesus Christ
for the Covid19 Vaccination programmes worldwide to reach quickly those really in need…
We pray for the Church;
guide and govern us by your good Spirit,
that all who profess and call themselves Christians
may be led into the way of truth,
and hold the faith in unity of spirit,
in the bond of peace and in righteousness of life …
We pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters especially for those living in Korea and India
We commend to your fatherly goodness
all those who are any ways afflicted or distressed,
in mind, body or spirit;
comfort and relieve them in their need
pour out your healing Spirit upon them,
give them patience in their sufferings,
and bring good out of all their afflictions …
for the hungry …
for the homeless …
for refugees and the victims of war …
for all suffering the effects of Covid19 and those who care for them…
for those whose diagnosis and treatment have been adversely affected by the epidemic…
for those struggling with increased loss of mobility and independence…
for those experiencing mental health issues, loneliness and isolation…
We remember those who have gone before us
in the peace of Christ,
and we give you praise for all your faithful ones,
with whom we rejoice in the communion of saints …
for those who are terminally ill and drawing near to the end of their earthly life…
for all who have lost loved ones and especially those unable to be with them in their final hours
All this we ask for Jesus Christ’s sake.
Letter from the Interim Minister
It is so good to be meeting face to face once more. Call in for Coffee will resume on Wednesday 10th February. Please do continue to keep the situation re Covid-19 in your prayers and please do continue to pray for those countries, especially the UK, Guernsey and Jersey where restrictions are likely to remain in place for the foreseeable future and for those countries particularly badly affected.
Lent is almost upon us (17th February). Do let me know if you would like a copy of the booklet #Live Lent God’s Story Our Story. There are six reflections for each week, written by Stephen Hance, the Church of England’s National Lead for Evangelism and Witness. Each reflection includes a short passage from the Bible, a brief exploration of the reading, and a prayer. Additionally, each week has a unifying theme and an action to be taken during the week.
Alternatively you can download the free app by going to the App Store if you have an IPhone or Google Play if you have an Android phone. This is now available.
