We pray for the coming of God’s kingdom.

You sent your Son to bring good news to the poor,

sight to the blind,

freedom to the captives

and salvation to your people:

anoint us with your Spirit;

rouse us to work in his name.

Father, by your Spirit

bring in your kingdom.

Send us to bring help to the poor

and freedom to the oppressed.

let us pray to the Lord:

for the hungry …

for the homeless …

for refugees and the victims of war …

Father, by your Spirit

bring in your kingdom.

Send us to tell the world

the good news of your healing love.

let us pray to the Lord:

for the IOM government …

for the leaders of the nations …

for all who hold public office …

that they may be filled with the integrity, justice, mercy and humility of Jesus Christ

Father, by your Spirit

bring in your kingdom.

Send us to those who are broken and those who mourn,

to bring joy and gladness instead of grief.

let us pray to the Lord:

for all suffering the effects of Covid19…

for those whose diagnosis and treatment have been adversely affected by the epidemic…

for those struggling with increased loss of mobility and independence…

for those experiencing mental health issues, loneliness and isolation…

Father, by your Spirit

bring in your kingdom.

Send us to proclaim that the time is here

for you to save your people.

let us pray to the Lord:

for those who are terminally ill and drawing near to the end of their earthly life…

for those who have lost loved ones…

Father, by your Spirit

bring in your kingdom.

Father, use us, unworthy as we are,

to bring in your kingdom of mercy, justice, love and peace.

Empower us by your Spirit and unite us in your Son,

that all our joy and delight may be to serve you,

now and for ever.

Amen.

‘Lord Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Blessed Sacrament. I love you above all things and I desire you in my soul. Since I cannot receive you now sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my soul. As though you were already there, I embrace you and unite myself wholly to you; permit not that I should ever be separated from you. Amen.’

Letter from the Interim Minister

Dear Friends

The hopeful news from the Chief Minister’s news conference yesterday is that assuming we have no community transmission of covid in the next 12 days restrictions should be lifted on Monday 1st February. If everything goes as planned this means that we should be able to resume our services on Wednesday 3rd February (10.30am BCP Holy Communion) and Sunday 7th February (9.00am BCP Holy Communion and 11.00am CW Holy Communion). Please do continue to keep the situation in your prayers and please do continue to pray for those countries, especially the UK where restrictions are likely to remain in place for the foreseeable future. I am very aware that many of you have not seen members of your family for some considerable time.  There are so many things that we need to pray for, with regard to the pandemic, however I would ask that you pray in particular for hospital staff and paramedics where we are hearing increasingly of the toll that the pandemic is taking on their mental and physical health.

We have some further good news in that we now have a revised date for my induction which will be on Tuesday 9th March at 7.30pm.

God’s blessings, Alessandra
